A Bit About Me
Hello again, I’m Bryn Hughes.
I am a marketing professional, honoured to live, work, and play in Winnipeg Manitoba, which is located in Treaty No. 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinabe (Ojibway), Ininew (Cree), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota, and the Homeland of the Red River Métis. I am currently working as a Communications Specialist for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. I also work as a freelance photographer and web/graphic designer, and make and sell art under my creative pet project, Sea of Wheat Designs.
I like to say my two hobbies are “making things and learning stuff”. I am very creative and have many art-related hobbies. I also enjoy woodworking, gardening, hiking, and have recently begun canoeing. I love learning about history, nature, psychology, advertising, human rights, and anything else that seems interesting. Of all my varied interests I am currently most passionate about bird watching, as you may have guessed from the images I have chosen as headers throughout this website. I began bird watching during the pandemic and it has quickly provided me with some of my most cherished life moments, like spotting my first barred owl or identifying a pied-billed grebe by call on a foggy morning walk.
